Oblivious

DSC02190_1.JPG

We didn’t know quite how well Corona and Roo would act on doggy play dates but, so far, everything is good.  A bit further along in years our dog still has energy but it’s bearable compared to that of Roo’s.

Bouncing from one wall to the other our dog just stands and watches Roo go.  When Roo decides it’s time for her to play with Corona she comes on full force but our dog doesn’t seem to mind.  With all the barks, jumping, slapping, etc our dog puts up with all of it like a trooper.

Even when at rest Roo seems to take comfort in being close to the big dog and as long as Corona remains oblivious to this we’ll continue taking pictures.

Loving the Attention

P1000055_1.JPG

Corona just loves attention and doesn’t care who it’s from as long as we approve of them.  Who knows how far she would go if we didn’t approve but we won’t worry about that.

At the dog park, with tons of dogs running, this Dogo Argentino would much prefer the human touch to running in the mud despite our constant urging to do so.  She must deeply regret not taking every opportunity to run when she gets home and still has energy to rid herself of.

Constantly pacing while she’s indoors and yet almost always standing against someone while out Corona seems to have a complex that we hope she resolves soon.  Hopefully the weather will keep up like it has been with the sun beating down and the wind blowing the mosquitoes away and we’ll be able to get out again soon.

Corona the Portrait

When Paul asked if I wanted to get the camera before he bathed Corona I stated that I already had enough of her bath pictures.  How wrong I was.

Before long Paul’s creative side broke out and instead of simply shampooing our Dogo he signed her name on her otherwise plain side.  It was an attempt that you can see some effort put forth but it quickly disappeared as it ran off.

It was an adventurous bath and I took many different pictures that will be coming up soon.

Corona and the Spaghetti?

P1000725_1.JPG

After making a pot of spaghetti for our company and then ruining it we had no other option but to give it to Corona – trust me, she appreciated more than our garbage can.

Reminding me so much of Lady and the Tramp without the Tramp the bowl was full but it wasn’t too much so that this Dogo Argentino couldn’t handle it.  Liking a challenge as much as the next dog she just ate and ate and ate…

Although she looked to us for sauce to make the pasta more appetizing she didn’t seem to mind once she got started.  Anything seems to be better than her plain old dog food.  We will try our best to keep our dog happy with her food but we’ll try even harder to avoid ruining more of our suppers.

The Little One Bites the Dog

P1000810_1.JPG

Summer brings many great things – the sun, warmth, friends but among these good things are little pesky enemies that are trying to get every warm body possible.

Mosquitoes are enoughto drive any sane person nuts with their annoying presence, loaded bite and prolonged stay with the constant itchy mark they leave.  Corona seems to be a mosquitoes target when we go for walks which discourages all of us from going again.

Constantly scratching herself anyway my husband tries very hard to keep her free of the pesky summer nuisance but was losing the battle as they only attacked him instead.  Picking up our speed was the only way we could attempt to avoid getting eaten alive.  Unfortunately our speed and Corona’s didn’t compare.

Hopefully we can get out soon and avoid the pests this time.
