Dogs are like humans in more ways than I ever thought possible. Most everything is better in two’s as it’s more entertaining than just oneand much simplier than trying to be fair with three. Dogs like to be in packs but if that’s not possible sometimes they are happy just pairing up.
Unfortunately if there is an odd dog out hey often intrude on others, trying to be friends with a pair but often causing a bout of jealousy for all.
With humans this attempt is known as becoming the third wheel, for dogs we’ll call it the third paw.
Although everyone involved are usually civil about the situation jealousy is never far from being present. Keeping a close eye on everyone’s behavior we avoided any disasters and hope to in the future.
