Circus Freaks?

Watching Ru perform tricks usually seen in a circus environment our dog grew tired of her antics pretty quickly.  Trying to pounce on the six pound dog as she does our twenty pound cat, we kept a close eye on both dogs.

Wanting to perform with Ru we quickly determined how to work Corona into the act.  Using just a treat and patience we almost had Ru making a full leap over our dog but Corona was more interested in eating a treat than staying still.

Rolling Over?

With a family still learning along with Ru they are trying to first train this puppy to pee outdoors only before advancing the learning spectrum.  Tricks such as sitting pretty and rolling over are taking second fiddle to the more necessary ones.  But my husband just sees a clean slate with this small dog and is trying his dog training skills at every opportunity.

First it was at the in-laws house and then at ours when they claimed their dog forgot how to roll over.  To prove a point Paul began shouting “roll over” and, in the background we saw Corona doing just as her master asked.  She must have done the trick eight times to every one that Ru managed.

Our dog likes almost everyone we have introduced her to but she has always been weary of Allan, my brother-in-law and no one could figure out why.  The entire family is puzzled by the fact that Corona quivers at the sight of Allan.

During our fathers day events I handed Allan the rope that our dog usually loves to play with but even then she backed away from him.  Everyone was left questioning her actions and couldn’t suggest any other events which would help the relationship between dog and man.

As a dog lover himself Allan seemed a bit (more…)

Every dog is prone to carrying fleas at some point in their lives but there are many companies looking to help you avoid that.  Most flea medication is very easy to administer and you should ensure that you do so.

My husband found our flea medication a few days ago which our dog swallowed without protest.  Thankfully, she’s protected for another summer and can play safely with her other protected dog friends.

Whatever flea protection you decide is (more…)
